KICLEI CANADA
Our Vision
KICLEI envisions a Canada where:
Local Communities Drive Decisions
Our Resources Are Responsibly Managed
Democracy is Protected
Freedom and Dignity Are Guaranteed
We believe that prioritizing localism over globalism is the key to protecting Canada’s sovereignty and building a stronger, freer nation.

Our Mission
Empowering Local Communities, Defending Local Autonomy
Our mission in 2025 is to equip Canadian communities with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to reclaim local governance and resist global mandates that undermine sovereignty. Through education, advocacy, and grassroots action, KICLEI Canada stands for transparency, accountability, and the protection of property rights, energy security, and economic freedom. We are committed to fostering locally driven solutions that prioritize the well-being of Canadians over globalist policies.
Organizational Structure & Growth Plan
KICLEI Canada is a grassroots initiative founded by Maggie Braun. While we are not yet formally structured, we are actively working toward establishing an organizational framework by the end of 2025. This structured approach will enhance the consistency, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability of our advocacy, particularly as we continue to face challenges in our efforts.
Despite being in the early stages of formal organization, KICLEI has already achieved significant milestones. In 2024, our reports and presentations contributed to:
✅ Thorold’s withdrawal from the PCP program
✅ Tiny Township initiating a cost analysis of their PCP commitments
✅ Renfrew County commissioning a report on true emissions and CO₂ sequestration—demonstrating that their region is naturally a carbon sink, absorbing more emissions than it produces.
Building on these successes, our 2025 national strategy will focus on expanding awareness and delivering strategic training across Canada to empower local communities in protecting their autonomy.
We are committed to transparency and are happy to provide more details about our structure and plans upon request. For more information, please email info@kiclei.ca.

About Maggie Hope Braun
Maggie Hope Braun is a Canadian civic advocate and the founder of the KICLEI Canada Initiative, a movement dedicated to promoting localism over globalism by empowering communities to reclaim their autonomy.
Maggie’s passion for advocacy began early in life, shaped by her experiences living in a jungle village in New Guinea and traveling to St. Lucia in the Caribbean. These formative years instilled in her a deep appreciation for nature, cultural diversity, and self-sufficiency.
Initially believing that the United Nations could play a positive role in protecting these values, she later re-evaluated this perspective after studying ecosystem management in 2007. She found that many UN-promoted climate narratives conflicted with basic scientific principles and began questioning why these narratives were being aggressively advanced.
Exposing Global Influence in Local Governance
After moving to British Columbia in 2009, Maggie observed municipal plans that mirrored UN Sustainable Development Goals, including Agenda 21. This realization led her to investigate how global agendas were subtly integrated into local planning and governance, shaping policies without broad public awareness or consent.
Through years of dedicated research and activism, Maggie developed a unique ability to identify and deconstruct these global directives within municipal documents, expose their long-term implications, and propose practical alternatives that prioritize community well-being, local economy, and autonomy.
A Strategic & Constructive Approach
Recognized for her strategic and collaborative approach, Maggie creates:
✔️ Reports, scripts, and meeting frameworks that foster productive dialogue
✔️ Educational materials and presentations that simplify complex policies
✔️ Advocacy tools that equip communities to engage effectively with their local governments
Through KICLEI Canada, she educates citizens about the voluntary nature of UN-directed programs and provides practical strategies to help municipalities reclaim local decision-making power.
Her Vision: Localism, Sovereignty & Accountability
Maggie’s work is driven by a mission to:
🌱 Preserve the integrity of local communities and their unique cultural perspectives
🌎 Hold global organizations accountable for overreach and lack of transparency
🏡 Champion policies that strengthen local governance and democracy
She firmly believes that Canada has a critical role in demonstrating how communities can thrive independently while maintaining environmental responsibility without surrendering sovereignty or freedoms.
